This Octagonal Tower is the most famous building on the campus of Tamkang High School. It was designed by the Canadian Presbyterian missionary K. W. Dowie, who followed Dr. Mackay to Taiwan. He succeeded in combining the elements of Eastern (tower-style) and Western (Byzantine-style) architecture. The octagonal tower has become the spiritual landmark of Tamkang High School.
